Build v0.004 is Live
Sorry for the lack up updates. Holidays have been busy, and it's not easy working in retail while balancing home life and hobby life. Even so, I've been dedicating more time to Project Maiden than ever before. Since the last update, I've wanted to make movement controls a priority such as touching up on movement speed, diagonal speed, interaction with slopes, running animation and so on. I've been struggling troubleshooting my own problems as I'm my own programmer and I can't say that I'm very good at understanding my own code sometimes.
One of my biggest hurdles was getting my player's movements to be very similar to a certain popular character from a top-down adventure game released in the US on 1992. At first my character while staying at a fixed animation would not animate properly when diagonal inputs were made. My current workaround to the diagonal movement and animation isn't very efficient but it currently gets the job done. As for the corner hugging, the amount of pixels is very small due to a bug where walking between two solid objects will not trigger the corner hugging without shrinking the player's collision box.
In any case I'm looking forward to the coming updates for this project, though I should be working on my Beastlymania game. It's hard to put down a harder passion project over an easier passion one.
P.S. Please do not mind the constant changes in the Champion and Princess between versions as all designs are not final, but I do intend on having fun with experimenting character likenesses.
